Utilities On Rural Or Waterfront Properties

In many areas in Maine, your utilities won’t be public. You may be on a septic system and are likely to get fresh water from a well. Similarly, natural gas may not be available; you will have electricity (unless you are very rural) but any gas appliances may require you to have a propane tank. Finally, in some areas, you will have to take your trash to the local refuse and recycling center; most islands don’t have municipal trash pick up.
